Our client is an industry-leading manufacturer of ingredients for health and nutritional applications. This company is seeking an Associate Microbiologist to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20/hr – $24/hr

Position Overview:

As an Associate Microbiologist, you will support Microbiology, R&D, and Engineers by conducting microbiological testing on various samples. The Associate Microbiologist will be hands-on in the assembly and testing of products and raw materials, weighing out samples, and logging samples in LIMS. The Associate Microbiologist should have an academic background in Biological Science and should have some lab experience in the form of academic, internship, or professional.

Responsibilities of the Associate Microbiologist:

  • Conduct microbiology tests on raw materials, finished products, and stability samples, including weekend coverage.
  • Record and input daily laboratory testing results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Investigate abnormal test results and deviations, performing root cause analysis under supervision.
  • Assist in internal and third-party audits and inspections.
  • Carry out routine lab tasks including reagent/media preparation, sample coordination, equipment maintenance, document management, sample inventory control, and reconciliation of sample requests, as necessary.
  • Support the plant’s environmental monitoring program.
  • Participate in laboratory proficiency testing.
  • Ensure adherence to good documentation practices (GDP).
  • Comply with good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good laboratory practices (GLP).
  • Manage microbiology lab waste disposal.

Qualifications for the Associate Microbiologist:

  • Proficient in microbiological techniques, equipment operation, and laboratory protocols.
  • Knowledgeable of aseptic techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and work cross-functionally.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a similar science.
