Our client is a 50-year old leader in the women’s fashion and apparel industry. They are seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$120k + Bonus

Position Overview:

As the Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the retail apparel company. You will be responsible for managing a team of accounting professionals, and ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementing efficient processes, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

  • Lead and manage the Accounting team, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Prepare and review complex financial analyses, including variable analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Monitor daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and tax professionals during audits and tax filings.
  • Play a key role in financial planning and analysis, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Participate in implementation and enhancement of accounting systems and software.

Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:

  • CPA is preferred.
  • prior retail/apparel/fashion experience.
  • Ability to lead a team.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant is a major plus.
