Our client is a true family-run business, that has been expanding since 1957. There are four divisions of the company that range from rentals of machinery to full sales of construction products and machinery. They are looking to add a Payroll Specialist to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$65k – $75k

Position Overview:

Our client seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Payroll Specialist experienced in managing multi-state payroll matters. The successful candidate for the Payroll Specialist role will be responsible for managing and processing payroll, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of compensation and benefit payments, and ensuring compliance with company policies and federal and state labor laws. The candidate must have multi-state payroll experience to manage payrolls for employees residing in different states for NJ, PA, and DE.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:

  • Manage and process the company’s payroll by ensuring all compensation benefits are calculated and disbursed accurately and timely.
  • Review time and attendance records and update the payroll system with any changes in employee status.
  • Handle multi-state payroll tax matters, including understanding local tax laws and filing requirements.
  • Prepare and submit reports on payroll matters to HR and other departments as required.
  • Liaise with the Finance department to reconcile and ensure the accuracy of payroll data.
  • Stay updated with changes in federal, state, and local payroll regulations and laws.
  • Audit and maintain accurate payroll records, prepare financial reports, and process year-end payroll requirements.
  • Coordinate with HR for any adjustments to pay due to overtime, leave balances, and other factors.
  • Resolve any payroll discrepancies promptly and professionally.

Qualifications for the Payroll Specialist:

  • ADP experience.
  • Advanced Excel experience.
  • At least 3 – 5 years of payroll experience, with a strong understanding of multi-state payroll processing.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
