Our nationally recognized client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a Plant Controller to join their corporate team based in Tampa, FL. Salary/Hourly Rate:
$130,000 – $150,000
Position Overview:
The Plant Controller will be report directly to the Director and primarily manage the various plant locations on a rotational basis as an extension of the Corporate Finance & Accounting team. This Plant Controller position is critical to the success of each plant, will require travel for onsite evaluation of financials and the ability to process improve the operational and financial deficiencies of each Plant location.
Responsibilities of the Plant Controller:
- Responsible for complete oversight and management of production, labor, and month end financial reporting
- Review reports generated by accounting personnel and ensure their accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare annual labor, capital and expense budgets and planning
- Oversight of plant performance against budget, analyze variances, and recommend appropriate actions to process leaders
- Establish policies and procedures for all inventory for plants and ensure records are accurate at each respective plant location
- Responsible for the month end closing process and ensure that all transactions for the period have been accurately recorded
- Assist department management in the development of methods and strategies in the controlling of plant expenses that will maximize return on investment
- Facilitate continuous improvement by participating in planning, evaluation and implementation of ideas that contribute to that process
- Develop, train, facilitate and lead staff to achieve their personal professional growth and maximize their contributions
Qualifications for the Plant Controller:
- 3 to 5+ years in supervisory or management position
- Strong ERP proficiency; Oracle Enterprise 1
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial personnel
- Must be able to travel 50% of your year – mainly biweekly domestic travel across different locations
- Working experience in Plant Operations or physical Plant Process Improvement environments
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent related business is required
- Master’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, CPA or CMA license designations are highly preferred
