Our client a provider of fresh produce and food products, specializing in sourcing, distributing, and delivering high-quality fruits, vegetables, and other perishable goods to retailers, restaurants, and consumers. They are seeking a Shipping and Receiving Lead to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20 – $25/hr

Position Overview:

This Shipping and Receiving Lead position involves efficiently picking and packing orders based on BOM/BOL, palletizing and staging freight in accordance with the Dispatching schedule, and loading orders into trucks/containers for timely delivery. The Shipping and Receiving Lead supervise a team of shipping and receiving personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities of the Shipping and Receiving Lead:

  • Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to schedule pickups and deliveries, optimizing transportation logistics and minimizing delays
  • Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, verifying quantities and documentation against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications
  • Utilize inventory management systems to track inventory levels, monitor stock movements, and update inventory records as shipments are received or dispatched
  • Organize and maintain the shipping and receiving area, including proper storage of materials, equipment, and supplies, to ensure a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications for the Shipping and Receiving Lead:

  • Shipping and receiving experience within a manufacturing environment. (Food and Bev Industry is a plus)
  • Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred
  • Knowledge on how to read BOM/BOL
  • Experience training and mentoring staff/team

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED is required
